How do cigarette smokers react to your electronic cigarette?

A question I often asked myself when I started smoking an electronic cigarette how would cigarette smokers react to me pulling out an electronic cigarette in a public place? Now that I've been smoking an electronic cigarette almost a year, I've had time to judge the different reactions of people. What I've found is mostly amusing, and once you read this article you wonder why you even cared what others might think.

When I first started vaping, my girlfriend was sceptical. As a cigarette smoker of almost 20 years she did not see how an electronic cigarette could possibly be safe or effective. In addition to that, trying to explain to anyone who doesn't smoke and electronic cigarette about the terms, language, and how the whole thing works can be very difficult and at times frustrating.

Now even though I have been smoking an electronic cigarette for a while, it can still be a bit weird when I pull mine out at a social occasion, and I haven't even tried to smoke it inside yet. Although apparently here in the United Kingdom it is legal to smoke an e-cig indoor, I haven't once attempted it - mainly because now that I'm smoking an e cig full-time I don't feel the horrible cravings anymore. That said, when I was eating in a restaurant I did see a woman smoking here small e-cig (probably an e-lite) quite casually, and although the managers and staff saw her they did allow it to happen. If you want to smoke inside, the best thing to do is ask for their policy, as different places do have different rules.

I smoke an electronic cigarette whenever I see my parents usually too - they are perplexed, but accepting. As non-smokers they were concerned when I started smoking full stop, but now I've moved out they accept that I'm going to do it and only sometimes ask a few questions about e-juice and so on, which is easily explained. Having said that, they were a bit worried by an e-cig scare story in the newspaper, claiming that e-cigs aren't healthy at all and can kill you - once you smoke an e-cig you'll realise that it is by far safer than smoking 'real' cigarettes, even if extensive research hasn't been performed, as it's just obvious.

So, aside from a few (and I mean few) looks from others, I have quite happily smoked my e-cig (which is about 8 inches long in total and hard to miss) outside coffee shops, in the street and so on, and never once have I even been asked what it is. With a lot of marketing for other e-cig brands happening, I think most people have at least heard of electronic cigarettes and so don't really question it when they see them.

The best thing to do if you are asked what the hell you're smoking is simply to say that it's a device you're using to help you quit smoking - that way people are definitely likely to be more accepting and approving, if that's what you need. However, if you like to vape and couldn't care less about what others think, then just do it anywhere, anytime - it's perfectly legal!

New Order Placed - Gourmet E-Liquids and BOSS Cartomizer

Having ordered some Menthol last week from VapeEscape (http://www.vapeescape.co.uk/E-Liquids/30ml-Bottles/Menthol-30ml.html?wizid=bhv89smhng1ccm9bfh05vqsf73) I was disappointed to find that it really didn't taste that great - far too artificial for my liking, which is disappointing because I normally enjoy Grizwald's Menthol Tabac from VapeEscape, so I thought they may be similar. I needed something I could vape all day, and I've been very excited to get around to trying some real gourmet e-liquids here in the UK.

So, I placed an order with Switch2-ECigs.com yesterday afternoon. The price was more than I've ever paid - almost £5 for 6ml, but at this stage in my vaping 'career' I really don't want to smoke anything that doesn't taste great and unique. Having tried many menthol- and tobacco-like ejuices, with fairly disappointing results, I've placed an order for the following.

£12.95
£5.95
£4.75

Switch2-ECigs.com is probably the first site I've come across with such a huge range of what looks like quality e-juices. The site is quite easy to use, and ordering was great too - to put it lightly, I can't wait to try the new flavours. I don't even mind them being more expensive than other places as long as they are top quality. We all know you often get what you pay for anyway, so let's hope so.

I'd still recommend VapeEscape, it's just that I've felt like it's time for a change - too much of vaping one flavour can definitely kill it, so here's my tip - make sure you switch things up at least a couple of times a day. What I'll hopefully start doing is have 3-4 clearomizers on the go - Morning, Afternoon, Evening and perhaps all day, or even one after dinner. Not decided yet, but that's another great thing about vaping - you can change the flavours when you want!

We'll see how fast the delivery is. To me that's an important part of deciding on a usual vendor - I always leave it until the last minute to order more juice, so need it within a day or two max, so we'll see.

And so continues my journey of finding the perfect e-liquid - it's been a long journey, but perhaps the end is in sight.

UPDATE: ORDER ARRIVED IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS!

The ACTUAL REAL BENEFITS of using e-cigarettes

If you'd have told me about the benefits of switching to electronic cigarettes, I wouldn't have believed you. After all, I was skeptical - e-cigs are quite new inventions, and why should I trust something that sounds so dangerous?

Well, I've almost smoked an e-cigarette for a year now - with 2 months of smoking real cigarettes in the middle. Is an e-cigarette good or bad? I'd say absolutely good, excellent in fact, as long as you find a decent, trustworthy supplier, and don't just go for the ones that advertise their little cigarette shaped e-cigs with Chinese factory juice. Go for a vendor near where you live, who has a good reputation and provides quality e-juices.

So, onto the actual benefits of smoking and the electronic cigarette.

The main benefit that I have noticed about smoking e-cigs is undoubtedly the fact that I can breathe easier. In fact after just six hours of smoking only an electronic cigarette I noticed that I could run for longer without getting out of breath. I feel less tired, and overall I just feel cleaner. There is no more heavy smoke smell hanging over me, and in fact the smell from an electronic cigarette is almost non-existent.

The second benefit, although a minor one, is the monetary aspect. Now, although the initial price and outlay for electronic cigarette is fairly high, especially if you're going to get a decent one, if you are a pack a day smoker an electronic cigarette is going to pay for itself within just a matter of weeks. The best way to ensure that you don't waste any money is by not purchasing a small cigarette sized electronic cigarette with prefilled cartomizers.

A purported benefit is that many electronic cigarette smokers find that they smoke less, however, for me this is not the case. I have a tendency to almost always have my electronic cigarette in my hand and subsequently smoke it quite a lot, pretty much continually. However, I have no doubt in my mind that if an electronic cigarette was going to be used as a cessetation device, it would definitely help a lot of people to cut down on their cigarette consumption. The problem with me is that I like the flavours too much.

Ultimately, it is no competition that an electronic cigarette is far superior to a normal cigarette. Whether it be price, health benefits, or anything else you can think of, an electronic cigarette is the way forward.
